Who are you, exactly?
I’m Susannah, and I respond to any version of that name (except Susan – here’s looking at you, turncoat Pevensie). I also respond to anything with pecans or chocolate in it. I have an affinity for $13 wines and coffee shops, and I do my best to keep up the poor artist stereotype via $13 wines and coffee shops. I’m a Christian, an English grad, and a people person to the max.
Write, draw, design, huh? What’s your angle?
More than anything, I love stories and creating things. I’ve been telling myself stories ever since I can remember, and I’m currently working on telling a few in novel form. In the meantime, I love playing with visual storytelling, whether that’s through sketching or dabbling in graphic design.
So why the website?
This is my home base to share these things with you each Saturday, because ultimately, the best thing that stories do is bring people together.
Of course, I want to tell you stories that will be worth the time it takes to make a pot of coffee, grab a blanket, and settle in. I want to write tales that feel like adventure and ring like truth. I want to be honest, even if we throw in fairies and UFOs and time travel and a nice cup of tea in a tower somewhere, just for the fun of it.
But in the end, none of that is worth it if I don’t get to connect with you. That’s the meaning behind stories – human connection. Understanding. Empathy. Companionship. And where better to do it than here?
I hope you enjoy your stay, and I hope you drop by again sometime. If you want to keep in touch, follow and subscribe and find me on the one social outlet I keep up with anymore (Instagram, ladies and gents)!
More than anything, I hope to connect with you and hear your own stories.
There’s a certain kind of adventure in that, after all.
